Stop Light And Lhm Warning Light

Good afternoon all. My first post here, please be gentle!

I won a W reg Xantia (just over 110k on the clock) with which i have had very little problems in the past but I have one now.

My STOP light was illuminated along with the fluid warning light so I topped up the LHM tank with 2 litres. Gauge is not working but I can see the fluid clearly and it is definately full however the stop light has not gone out.

I have done the aerobics with the car, suspension raises and falls normally, I have pushed on the front and back of the car and get the normal resistance (slightly soft if anything), car feels and drives normally. I can sense no problems at all with it but this light is worrying me.

Any thoughts???

Thanks in advance.

You'll see an electrical connector on top of the LHM tank. If the LHM level is correct, disconnect the electrics and see if the warning light goes out. If it does, the switch may be faulty.
