Guest Darren Mitchell Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I've just a problem with the anti pollution and cat warning come on and it going into limp mode, the last time I had this problem it was the ignition coil. How can you tell without getting a garage to put it on the computer and costing a small fortune? I have got the C5 2002 exclusive 3.0 V6  Quote
coastline taxis Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 there isnt any other way unless you just want to try and guess what the fault is. Which will cost you a lot more in the long wrong Quote
jacktar51 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 darren...I had this problem on my 02 citroen C5 (petrol) the diagnosis was ageing cat convertor, this is because the cat gets sooted up and becomes less efficient, the mechanic told me the warning light can be switched off on the diagnostics computer without any bad effects, which he did, the car was running fine with the engine management light on ,...I was just concerned that something might be getting damaged, but I neednt have worried its been running fine,I did take another precaution,by adding an engine additive called BG44,this cleans all the engine inlet valves the cylinders, pistons, exhaust valves and exhaust pipes including cat convertor,my engine had a VERY slight misfire possibly due to dirty valves or valve seats, anyway it cured that too,my engine runs as smooth as clockwork now, GOOGLE BG44 and read the reviews, you'll be amazed...hope this does the cure for you darren,it did for me,and my engine had only 60,000 on the clock......Jack.
