Hi all,

newbie so go easy :)

I have an AX 1 litre petrol 96(P reg) with bosch 3.0 ECU.

There is an intermitant prob where the car will crank all day long but not start - it cranks fast but no life...

Sometimes itll start out the blue - but its got a lot worse in last few days...and now is dead.

Ive renewed plugs '092; leads '092; throttle potentiometer and body assemble as this had broke...

and it had drove lovely since this was done...over the last two weeks...

But this prob has been there before these parts were changed..

When it doesnt start i cant get 12 volts at the electronic dis when cranking?..

I want to see if there is a way of checking for fault codes - can you do a blink test on this car?..like a vauxhall vectra?..

I dont have a diagnostic scanner.

Ive heard you can earth a terminal in a plug to get a blink test on the dash - is it pos and how do i do it?..where is the connector i need to use?.

I suspect now the CPS - have taken it off and cleaned it - but back on, it still wont fire up..

Can i check the CPS to diagnose it with a meter?..

any help would be much appreciated...

im currently checking for dry joints in the ECU connector but all looks fine :o - help...

Thanks

Rich
