Bob202 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Hi, I have a new model C5 VTR estate 2.0 hdi. Does any body else have abnormal tyre wear. Since new 7500 miles I have experienced abnormal tyre wear, the original front tyres are nearly 75% worn out after 6800 miles. I have had the steering geometry checked twice by Citroen, who cannot find anything wrong. After the last geometry check I had the rear tyres which looked like new put on the front (450 miles ago). Since then the tyre tread on the out side looks as if it has cuts in it and looks like the tread has experienced an amout of chattering.Tyre pressures are checked once a week, driving conditions are normal. After motorway driving the tyres look normal, however if I have a period of round town driving the chattering and cuts soon come back. I should add that the steering feels completely normal. I would appreciate any feedback. Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Same with mine! I have a 2005 C5 Exec Estate with 10K on the clock. The front rubber is down to 3mm already. Since it had done 5000 when I got it, I'm wondering if the dealer switched the wheels before sale. Quote
Carlos Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Sounds like something might be up. I have a 2005 C5 VTR Estate (from new) now with 13500 miles on the clock, all tyres look perfectly normal for this sort of mileage (can't see me replacing them before 20000 at least). Another word with those (helpful?!!) people at Citroen again? Quote
Carlos Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Sorry, forgot to mention (in case it helps) mine is the Hdi as well. Quote
