deano mac Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 i have scanned ecu with diagnostic equipment in a hope to find out what's causing the missfire...it came up with the coil pack faulty.this was replaced, and had no effect.a second scan came up with faulty injectors.i,m begining to think there is an ecu fault, because every time it is scanned a new set of fault codes come up.just wondered if anyone else has had these problems, and also if you know of any recalls for this kind of fault? any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks. hertsnminds Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I had a Fiat that reported a faulty lambda sensor on the computer when the actual fault was 3 cut wires. Just because the computer can't get readings from a sensor does not mean the sensor or part is a fault, could just be the connection to it that has the problem. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
barns Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 i had the very same kind of fault on my last car.came up as a misfire on cylinder 3 coil pack changed fault stayed, car would misfire and then run perfectly in emergency mode.Afraid this fault remained for over 3 months basically the car lived at the dealers.the car was a vauxhall but they stripped enginge altered running temp changed all the sensors and ecu unit and also rewired the full electrical system all covered by warrenty but they had to admit that they couldn't find what was wrong only that by doing all of the above the fault went.It was very thursty on juice though. Got rid of the car 3 weeks ago because the warning light came back on and out of warrenty i was not going to pay for all this work. The engine management lights can be difficult to fault trace but on the other hand it could be something as simple as a split pipe My advice is to stick with the warrenty and get a copy of the reports /finding for future reference because ecu units are not cheap good luck............... kfk Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 C3/C2/Pluriel with missfire: Fault more than likely caused by water leaking from washer jets after they have been operated......dripping onto injectors. The injectors have some moulding marks which allow water ingress and allow it to corrode the injector terminals. Replace injector and screen wash jet with new seal. Coils can also be troublesome...not as much as the injector though. Quote
iannez Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 the drivers side washer jet drips water onto the injector directley below it causing it to short out and that then shorts out the coil. you always have to change both. if you get new injector you will see the holes ether side is filled with white sealer and the old ones arnt. i always remove other 3 and seal them up while i've got the rail off. iannez Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 just ask them to fit new injector. its the one nearest the timing belt. that should sort it. Quote
