Hi. I have a 52 plate C5 HDI diesel that has just had a cambelt replaced and a service. All filters replaced. ( air oil fuel )

The car started ok and drove fine for about a mile then started to missfire. After checking fuel filter it again started ok and went for about a mile then missfired again. Now it wont start. The battery went flat while trying to start and now it is in eco mode.

If anyone can help I would be very gratefull.

Mileage is 74000.

Cheers Rob.......

Rob,

First check the the big sealing ring is sealing ok on the filter housing and make sure your fuel pipes are connected ok, should hear them click as you push them back on.

If it still wont start check that when you turn on the ingnition you can hear the fuel pump huming under the rear seat if its not it will not start, but if it was ok befor you changed fuel filter i would say its pulling in air where the seal ring sits on the filter housing. Check these first and let us know.

gotta be a fuel issue - you have used the fuel in the engine and in the fuel lines - that is what has let you drive for a mile or so - as above - listen for fuel pump and check the fuel lines for leaks, and start looking for a fuel pump
