Guest AlanH Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 HiI am new to this forum and a new owner of a C5. I bought a 2007 C5 Exclusive Estate and want to fit a tow bar. I have the tow bar and have looked on the internet for fitting instructions – for some reason they did not come with the tow bar! It’s interesting that the fitting instructions for almost every tow bar are the same. They start with the words: - Remove the under tray (4 screws under the valance, 1 screw forward of the exhaust).I took a look underneath the car and can see the screws that have to be removed but it looks as if there are some tags attaching the under tray to the rear bumper. Do I just remove the screws and pull or is there a special way to remove it?I bought a Haynes Manual so that I could see how it should be done but the answer is not in it! Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 There are four screw along the back and one on the side. The side piece up to the wheel arch is attached, so it's all joined. Undo the screws and it just pulls out. After fitting the tow bar, I didn't bother replacing mine. No need to remove the bumper, although some of the bolts are difficult to reach. Quote
