No_Xsara Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Quick question for other Xsara owners. My Father-in-law just purchased a second hand Xsara. Diesel 2003 reg. On Several occasions his foot slipped of the accelerator pedal. Scary as he is not the best on the road in the first place. I noticed It was bare metal. My cars have rubber covers ( Renault (Rubbish) / Honda). I sent him back to the dealer to get a cover, they told him the xsara doesnt have a rubber pedal cover and that he'd get used to it. Is this correct ? Can an owner go have a look for me. Many thanks Phil Quote
mopshopA1 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 hey, sorry, what they said was a pile of donkey mess they do have covers on the accelerator pedal but they seem to come off very easily mine came second hand with one but it was damaged so i got one off ebay for about £10 Quote
kfk Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Clutch and Brake pedals have a ruber cover, Throttle pedal doesnt.....just checked the parts list to confirm it. Quote
wozza Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Suppose if its a real concern you could get some aftermarket pedals and stick them on since they usually come with rubbers designed for them. Or stick something to it thats got some texture and about the right size. Quote
Safety Engineer Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I put some self adhesive grip tread tape on it (the stuff used on outside metal fire escape stair nosings) when I had my Xsara, worked a treat. Quote
