C5 2.2 Diesel Strange Electrical Fault - Wipers/windows

Hello all,

I have owned a 51 plate 2.2 diesel C5 for 3 months now & have already done 4800 miles. Since I bought it, I have discovered an odd electrical problem & I wondered if anyone had come across it before. If I switch the wipers onto the fast wipe setting, the driver's window opens! It happens if the wipers are on auto and the rain is heavy enough for them to move themselves onto the fast setting too. It is really bizarre and what it means is that the window opens when you least want it to and you get an earful of cold rain! I thought at first it was a water ingress to electrics issue, but it happens consisitently when the wipers are set to fast, whether the weather is wet or dry. The front windows also won't close properly, they bounce back down when you try to close them, so I end up driving down the motorway with rain coming in and trying to inch the window closed bit by bit. Any ideas anyone? Also, does anyone know how to get the radio code? Don't want to try disconnecting battery or whatever without radio code.

Thanks in anticipation.

AFAIK the radio is coded into the car BSI.

I would try a BSI reset (look for procedure on the forum) then reset the pinch settings on the windows if they still play up.

Check that the battery is not low voltage. All sorts of random faults occur with C5s if it is.
