Guest 23carragold Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Hi everyone, Wondering if you can help. Recently purchased a lovely Xantia 2.0 HDi Exclusive. Only one concern I have is that when I apply the brakes, usually under firm braking I think, I get some sort of kickback or surge? I don't understand what to do. It has recently passed an MOT with no advisories in February so I do not think it is serious? I just want to know if this is normal or not, and if not, what can I do to rectify it? Just a little bit worrying really. The brakes apply really firmly, but when you apply the brake pedal, there's an almost squelching sound, or air when releasing. Hope you guys can help! Thanks! Quote
Randombloke Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 The brakes on Xantias, BXes and previous hydraulic Citroens have different feel to the normal servo, spongy brakes on other cars. If the car slows down as expected and the brakes work smoothly, don't worry about the pedal feel. Try and see if you can drive or feel the brakes on another Xantia or BX, they are very different from the C5, and also different from the GS/CX/XM generation cars. It won't feel like most cars. That's normal. Quote
