spannerman Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Hello "Billy" Owners Anyone out there changed a cambelt on a Berlingo Multispace 1.6 16v. Is it a reasonably straightforward job and does anyone have workshopmanual details they can let me have a copy of (ie; page printout etc). I know an Haynes manual has just been released covering this enginebut I didn't want to buy the complete manual just for the section oncambelt change alone. Hope someone can help Cheers Ron Quote

Surely it would be better to purchase the manual if you are planning on doing work of this kind yourself. There's nothing worse than finding that someone hasnt given enough/correct information and find your lacking tools/time as a consequence. A picture can paint a thousand words....and looking at the tensioner adjustment its worth the pictures. Quote
Brilec Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 You do the job yourself for the cost of the belt, perhaps £20.Take it to the dealer and pay £45 per hour labour, cost over £100 plus their price for a belt.Haynes manual £15. Which do you think is the cheaper option? If you screw up on the tensioning, you could well end up with a broken engine, so get the bloody manual and don't be such a tight-ar*e Quote
