mmarks Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 As the title really, my '03 1.6 sesodrive has a button on the end of the lights/indicator stalk that I can push in but doesn't seem to do anything. Does it have a function or is it there for a more upmarket version????? Mike Also, my owners handbook talks about the automatic gearbox but doesn't mention the sensodrive, is there a scan of this someone could post up or email me? Quote

Someone may have replaced the stalk at sometime for the incorrect one, or your car has automatic headlights and that is the button used to turn them on and off Quote
BarryK Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I have the same unused button on my '04 C3 Senso, I believe that this is used on the higher spec c3's. I did ask at the 'Stealers' if the button could be re-programmed to sound the horn, as the steering wheel horn pad is pretty useless, also has a slight delay when you press it and there is no way to give a little warning 'bleep', just a full blown and very loud 'roar' I was told that it was not possible, even though the button was connected to the main bus - I think that he probably meant 'computer say's noooo..) Just another little niggling fault on an otherwise great little motor. Other niggling faults include: 1. Slow gearchanges (manual or auto) this is only a problem when trying to negotiate a busy roundabout or junction - you pull smartly away in 1st and as soon as the car reaches about 5 mph, the car staggers slowly into 2nd - not much fun when you have a White Van Man bearing down on you...... 2. The fact that whenever you are travelling at about 30 to 40 mph, if you just touch the brakes the ecu forces a gear change down to 2nd. I complained to the dealer about this - he said it was 'to "assist you with braking the car" - I dont need any help thanks, my right foot and the ABS brakes are quite sufficient. There are one or two other things that I can't think of at the mo, but despite this, it's a very nice little car - over the last 2000 miles or so (nearly all short non-motorway use) it still averages 50mpg, on longer Motorway or Daul Carriage way trips it easily gets 65mpg, and on one momentous trip from Basildon to Norwich and back it managed 73mpg. Rant over......... :) Barry Quote
mmarks Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Thanks for the replies. I wondered if the button would show me mpg or something like that - I guess not!I have to say, I am quite impressed with the little thing so far. for a 1.6 it goes well enough and I have so far averaged 49mpg (used a phone app to record every refill and calculate average - sad or what!)I agree with the gear changes, they are very slow and sometimes lurch you forward as they are not very smooth. I also have had a couple of situations when the car seemed as though it was in neutral when going slowly over a speed bump so it revved until about 2,500 revs until it started moving forward. But, all in all it does what it says on the tin. stimulator Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 If I recall corectly on my 54 reg SX the button on the end of the indicator stalk activated the auto headlights in conjunction with another actiomn, you had to hold it in until you heard a gong sound. (I don't have that car anymore to check it out) On my 07 SX it doesn't operate and is fixed. The end button on the wiper stalk (right hand) does the trip computor on both cars Quote
