I bought a 54 C5 facelited exclusive three months ago . Been real pleased with it .Only a couple of slight electric niggles .The heater had a habit of setting to Min when the car was stopped , but that seems to have cured itself . The other has been parking sensors , they're notorious apparantly for giving up due to water damage . As I didn't pay much for the car , I decided to give it a treat and take it to Arnold Clark citroen to get its sensor/s fixed BIG MISTAKE !!! They charged me 120 for the diagnostic , and 72 for two sensors , and 50 to fit them . Then guess what ?? Driving away from the said dealer BEEP "parking sensor fault" was the message on the screen . I drove straight back and entered into a debate with them about the situation and the bill ,which is still ongoing. I've since found an independent Citroen garage now , when I was in for a small service he read the codes and said the the only fault was parking sensors x 2 and told me the positions , he didn't charge me for the info' . The sensors are £70 from the dealer so I wasn't interested to start with , but I started searching on the int' and found one Citroen part No; 6590A5 which I bid for and got for £5 , and two 6590F6 Peugeot part No ( exactly the same but in grey primer ) for £ 24 . They are dead easy to fit ,all the rear ones can be accessed with no need to remove the bumper ,just removing the the soft rubber under tray . The two inner front ones just pull out on their own housing .The two outer front would need the bumper removed , but hardly a massive job . Moral of the story , steer clear of dealers , and shop around for parts ...I really should have taken my own advice to start with !!!

Boy I really love my C5 though , makes the Volvo S60 I had look bad . I paid more money for the Volvo , had lots of expensive issues with it .The Citroen is a much nicer drive !!!

I had one fail and took it to an independent with a Lexia to find out which one

I've sinc been told that if you listen very closely you can hear them clicking if they work so the silent one is the one to change

I've never found any S/H on Ebay

Hi Dave ... Yes I read somewhere re; this clicking , but I can't hear them . They do turn up on ebay at times , remember 6590F6 is exactly the same as 6590A5 ( the Citroen number ) the only difference is the citroen one is black . Peugeot 6590F6 is supplied in grey primer.

PS the ones I bought on ebay were new .
