eddiesolo Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Hi guys, tried to place this is in the correct section but won't let me. Not sure if you are having problems or what? I have an issue that my wife is going to kill me if I don't sort it lol! The LCD dash is fine. all working, however I managed to source another for bulbs and in case it fails, my Mum's failed and cost £600 5 years ago :( I unpluged my original and tried the other unit, some bulbs have gone but it seems to work. However, when I have replaced my original unit, it now shows it wants a service (mine was serviced in March) and is showing 125000 miles instead of showing my original 47750 miles! Help, what the hell have a done! Can this be sorted! Thanks for all replies and I do hope you can save me *gets down and knees and begs* Si:) Quote
kfk Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Unfortunately the 'spare' dash must have had a higher mileage than the one you removed from the vehicle. Whilst plugging the spare dash in to test it may have seemed a good idea, it has downloaded its mileage into the main computer........you have then unplugged it, put the original unit back and the vehicle has uploaded the higher mileage now recorded in the main computer to the original dash. The only way you will resolve the mileage issue is to replace both the main computer and instrument panel together......from a model with a lower mileage. In addition you will need the fuel injection ecu from the same vehicle and the chassis number to enable you to obtain the confidential code to program the keys to allow the immobilisor to unlock. I fear your going to be in the doghouse for a while. Quote
eddiesolo Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Righto, yep, in the deep do-do :( Fair enough, nothing ventured nothing gained...guess I will have a great condition car for 125000 miles lol! Will be good when next MOT time is due. Thanks very much for your time in helping, appriciate it. Si:) Quote
mechcanico lee Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Get one of the "mileage correction" guys out to it to reset the clocks and the bsi back to the original mileage £50-£80 normally covers it , jusy google them and see who can do it who closest to yourself . Quote
eddiesolo Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Nice one, just found one that is in my area, sent info so will hear back and see how much and if they can do it. Thanks again mate. Si:) Quote
eddiesolo Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 Hi guys, just an update regarding the mileage on the clocks. Went to a few mileage correction places and many turned me down due to the Picasso being a 02 plate, apparentely they are a swine to do and can mess up, 03 onward are much easier. Finally got a guy who know's Picasso's and he came and did it for me...2hrs it took and cost me £120. Expensive mistake by me, but sorted in the end. Thanks for the advice guys, appriciate it. Si:) Quote
