WLT Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Hi everybody. I've recently purchased a c4 VTS however when i started it up this morning the dash beeps and flashes up "automatic headlamo adjustment fault" and "sterable headlamp fault" then the service lamp comes on for a little while. Has anyone had similar problems or is this a trip to the dealer for me. Any help would be appreciated. Marc Quote
Welshguy Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Definately a trip to the dealer! Sounds like a problem with the linkage for steering the Xenon headlamps. I dont have the Xenon's but take a good look at the headlights and see if you can see anything caught internally in them. Might be something simple that your dealer can sorted in an hour or two. ham's c4vts Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 i had a problem with one of my xenon bulbs, it came on then went pink, told dealer and at first told me that bulbs wernt covered, but as i pointed out i had only had car a month you had better sort it, they ordered me 2 new bulbs and replaced them.good job as i was told originally that they were £180 inc vat fitted each! :D Quote
barns Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 seriously £180.00 plus vat for a light bulb, can think of better things to splash cash on especially now summer months are coming! Quote
rikebo Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 cant see why you need £180 bulbs surely theyre too expensive to be viable std bulbs are good enough... Quote
wozza Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 they give much better visibility. the lights turn with the steering wheel, there longer life bulbs much longer. And they give out a purer light. Theres a reason why they are more expensive they also give out more and better light and use less power from the alt to do so. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 they are good lights, but stupid price, i think you have to go to the dealer if they fail as the use special tools to remove and replace. but are supposed to last lots longer the normal bulbs Quote

stratos Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Had this problem on my VTS. The fault indicator also pulses the dip beam light on and off when you switch the headlights on. Dealer changed a control box FOC under warranty. It was an electrical fault not a mechanical one. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I have experienced the problem with "steerable headlamp fault/ automatic headlamp adjustment fault" problem on my week old VTS (became aparent driving through a thunderstorm yesterday)...handy... Obviously going to need to take a visit back, roughly how long does it need to be in the garage for? Quote
WLT Posted May 22, 2006 Author Posted May 22, 2006 Obviously going to need to take a visit back, roughly how long does it need to be in the garage for? Mines going in on saturday for this problem, so hopefully i'll be able to tell you by then. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I got the VTS booked in for this Wednesday, seemed to know on the phone what the exact cause is more than likely to be which made me wonder if this is a common fault on models with these lights fitted? Asked to the avalibility of a courtesy car..."next avalible slot is w/c 26th June" .....how handy :) Quote
