c5jimmy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The bite point on my 1.8 C5 is odd. It's as if it finds the biting point before losing and finding it again. It makes pulling away quite awkward as I cant be delicate and precise. If I try and pull away normally the car judders like it is going to stall. Also, when I rest my foot on the clutch pedal really lightly I can feel the pedal almost vibrating or grinding. The car accelerates fine and goes in and out of gears no problem. Any advice? Quote
coastline taxis Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Sounds like your clutch is on its way out Quote
c5jimmy Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Sounds like your clutch is on its way out Hmm, do you have any idea what a new one costs inc fitting? 2001 1.8 petrol C5. Thanks Quote
coastline taxis Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Youl need 1 x clutch kit = £100 to £1502 x gearbox oil = £201 x nose cone for theust bearing £ 10 to £201 x labour £100 to £200 depending on where you go.Try your local dealers for the clutch kit as weve had it in the past were out local dealers (town center citroen) are cheaper thean the local motor discount store. c5jimmy Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Thanks for the pricing. :) The clutch seems to have become worse today. It has started making a whining noise when I change gear. When I push the pedal in (in neutral) it makes a funny noise then too. Like a mechanical humming noise coming from the engine. Quote
coastline taxis Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 sounds like your thrust bearing part of your clutch is gone.try and get it done asap so you dont do any expansive damage Quote
