Hi

Can anyone help. I have the opportunity of obtaining a pair of Xenon headlights from an 02 C5 Exclusive which I would like to fit to my 52 plate C5 Exclusive which currently has halogen headlights. Could anybody advise whether or not this is possible and if it is what I would need to carry out the conversion.

Thanks

Besides having the xenon headlights, you will also require the headlamp washing system. Headlamp washers are required by law. They shoot out on stalks below the lamps - so in addition to everything else, you'd also need a change of bumper with the washer end covers. Also the lamp washers work only when the headlamps are switched on, so there will be complicated rewiring to do. Also (I think) the xenon light system has a different washer bottle and pump. Thanks Johndouglas for this info, also found out that there is also a legal requirement for the dipped beam to stay on with the main beam, not sure whether or not this is a function within the headlamp unit or a function of the lighting relay, if the lighting relay then that is further wiring mods that would be required. It's looking like this conversion is going to be more trouble and cost than it is worth!

Yes - I've noticed with mine that when I switch to main beam, the dipped beam also stays on and it certainly lights up the road ahead. Although the C5's suspension keeps the xenon beam level, I also think the lamp units are motor driven
