Tyre Monitor System

Hi

i've got the' tyre pressures not monitored' message on the dash after about 1 mile from start up. Lexia says 'front right wheel transmitter module info not received no signal'.

Is this likely to be a failed sensor in the tyre, or would the sensor need to be programmed in if it had been replaced by the previous owner before it would work ?

Failing this can I turn the sytem off with lexia to avoid the messages and how ?

If I fit my spare wheel - which is alloy and has a transmitter in it, the system gives me the same message after about a mile. I take it that the ECU just doesn't recognise it.
