kfk Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Hi yes it is the hpi model Dont know when you last had a spark plug replacement, but due to the lean burn engine they do tend to eat them.....its recommended they are replaced at every service. Other than that, the hpi engine isnt the smoothest, again mainly due to its lean burn characteristics.....is it a problem that has developed or a problem that has always existed? Quote
citroen ray Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 Hi it is a possible which developed about 9 months ago,it has had new plugs and a new coil pack but it is still the same,it been on the citroen computer and it comes up with no fault. Quote
kfk Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I've got to be honest.......we have had one at our dealership, had plugs, coils and injectors.....it didnt change anything. Our feeling was that the injection ecu software was causing it, which unfortunately we are unable to do anything with. My gut feeling is that it's something you might have to live with until it worsens Quote
citroeneddie Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Did they stop making the petrol HPi engine because it was unreliable? Quote
kfk Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Did they stop making the petrol HPi engine because it was unreliable? reliability wasnt really an issue.....although some suffered from rattles from the variable timing pulley.......they sounded like diesels Quote
