JonnyBeef Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I have just bought a '98 xantia which has bouncy front suspension, someone told me the spheres need recharging with nitrogen, someone else told me they need replacing, the front and rear raise and lower with the lever. Im not that clued up with cars so i don't want to be ripped off at a garage. Can anyone give me any ideas. Also roughly how much this would cost. Many Thanks John. Quote
kfk Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Most citroen dealers/ specialists will be able to give an idea of the problem and cost if you present your car too them. If you bought it to me i'd give gentle presure at each corner of th vehicle and see if the suspension went up and down. If you do that and the only thing you see/feel is the tyres bulging then its highly probable that a sphere or more has failed......this has to be done with the engine running and the suspension at the normal ride height. As for recharging spheres......yes it can be done but i wouldnt recommend it considering the price of spheres worth looking here suspension parts Quote
JonnyBeef Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 Hi Thanks for the help, i have found a guy who will replace all six spheres reconditioned, with a two year unlimited mileage gaurantee for £150.00 fitted, this sounds a good deal, what do you think??? Quote
