Libby Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Can't find anything about it in the owner's manual, but does anyone know whether the boot lid is strong enough for someone to sit on it? Quote
hertsnminds Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Depends how heavy they are, mine had the loading weight written on the plastic trim inside the boot lid, can't remember how much it was, but it was in kg. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Libby Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 Very diplomatically put! It says 100 kg, so that's enough for an adult and a child. Thanks. Quote
hertsnminds Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Why do you want to sit on it ? Isn't that what everyone does at Ascot, picnic from the back of one's Chelsea Tractor? Range Rover design the split tailgate to be used as a seat, stops you getting ants in your pants or grass stains (cue Lurpak ad). IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Guest chrisnn Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 A point to note when loading up the tailgate: The inner end of the black restraining strap is attached to the lower part of the striker plate. Now this plate is adjustable, with upper screw being a pivot for the plate to rotate around, and the lower screw is movable to allow the plate to be clamped in the best postionIn their wisdom the Citroen engineers chose not to place the restraining strap fixing at the fixed point, so that if the plate is not firmly clamped, it will move outwards when you sit on the tailgate. If you grasp each top corner of the tailgate in turn, and you can wiggle it in and out, or the boot clatters as it is closed, then adjustment is required Quote
