Mike5483 Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 As per the title really. Reading the book, it says you should get an audible warning and a visula warning on the display. I only get an audio warning. Which is right??? Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 Oh right. Seems the book maybe wrong then, or maybe you only get a visual display on the navidrive disply or something. Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Maybe my C5 is different - but I get a warning sound and also a number of bars, depending upon the closeness to the obstruction. Quote
C4VTS Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Maybe the Visual warning is when you have hit the other car ! Just kidding :D Quote
dave&trace Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 you should get visual on both colour nav drive and monochrome it has to be enabled by the dealer don`t get fob off by them saying it`s only audioable we had this problem with our first C4 it`s in driver assistance in cit`s diaog Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 Why do you have to get it switched on if it states you should have it in the manual??? Seems a bit strange to me. Quote
dave&trace Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 you tell us ??????????its states in handbook and sales lit booklet that parking sensors are audioable and visual our 2nd C4 came configured visual display working without having to ask!!! Quote
evilone Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 11 Months to get mine working , I was told the factory loaded old software version.Make sure your dealer has the latest diagnostic system or they will just keep the car for a couple of days then tell you there all like that :( Quote
billynibbles Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 My 15-month old VTS has the visual warning as well as audible - it shows a map of the car with one, two or three bars as you get closer to the offending object I really must stop getting too close to the car in front in a queue, because as soon as one bar shows up, the display blocks your use of the radio unless you press the ESC button to get rid of it. C4VTS Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I get no visual display on my VTS. Will have a play with the sensor on/off switch tomorrow to see if that will do anything to activate the visual display. Quote
sammys hdi vts Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 just been to my dealer to see if they can switch the visual warning on and they spent and hour doing it, even though I gave them the info about what menu to look in. After phoning citroen technical they finally gave up as Citroen says theat the feature is only available to cars with front AND rear sensors. Is this true, do those of you that have the visual display have front sensors? Quote
ham's c4vts Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 when i phoned my dealer in derby, they said it depends how old the car is and if has the correct software?????? <_< it goes in on monday, so ill post then Quote
ham's c4vts Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 QUOTE (C4VTS @ Jul 22 2006, 09:28 AM) "Was told by technician today that my C4 VTS does not have the specification for the visual reverse warning or the tilting door mirrors. Salesman thinks that I would need to have had the front parking sensors as well as just the rear ones to have the visual display. And nobody has seen a C4 with tilting mirrors, even though the handbook says it does do it." my vts went it this morning for the parking sensor display (which is working now) and the mechanic said that when you buy your car you should have a sheet with tick boxes onit to tell service what you require enabling. so i asked the salesman who sold me the car and he didnt know. <_< i went back to service and the woman there said that they would enable other things if required next time. So i was thinking should we start a topic to see what we all shuld have on our displays? Quote
sammys hdi vts Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 anyone found out if the visual display is on the front and rear sensor cars only? Quote
evilone Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 http://www.citroen.co.uk/uploadpool/docume...Spec_June06.pdf If you follow the link and go to page six bottom right hand corner of the page.clearly shows that the vts/exclusive come with audible/visual rear parking sensors as standard. Now get the technical spec brochure from the showroom and take it to the service manager, ask if they have the new diagnostic computer if the answer is no then you are wasting your time. Find a dealer that has one. Quote
billynibbles Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I was out and about in Thursday evening's torrential rain in the London area - on Saturday morning, I was getting a 'very close' warning from my rear driver's side sensor. Swearing about Citroen electronics under my breath, I pressed on, thinking maybe water had got into the sensor. On closer inspection, there was a 'kin great spider crawling across it. Once it shifted itself, the false warning went away. The Citroen C4 - "Alive with arachnids" One thing I did notice though - if a truck goes past and flings huge amounts of flood water at you even from 10 feet away, the sensors sound off. Quote
