chrisdownes Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I have had to change the battery on my C5 and since doing this cant get my sat nav to work. I no longer have the ability to select the sat nav on the screen, it appears "greyed out". Also, the disc in the player on the drivers side keeps going in and ejecting as though its not reading properly. It was working fine until I changed the battery. Am I doing something wrong and do I need to enable it somehow? Quote
PaulCartwright Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 i have a simalar problem with mine but the sat nav works but i cannot get the birds eye view screen or any audio citroen said its something to do with taking the battery off whilst the cd in the right side of the dash was working! its a load of crap but noby knows the fix to it Paul Quote
kfk Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Disconnecting the battery on a C5 shouldnt be done untill 10 minutes after shutting the ignition off. Failure to do this causes information to be lost as it cant be written to the memory. The unit cannot be repaired by the dealer and there is no 'quick fix'........you need a new unit. Quote

Surely that cant be true? If I was to buy a new unit, it wouldnt have been connected to a car so would have no "memory" either. Quote
chrisdownes Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 i'm a liar then!!!!!!! I didnt mean it like that, I just find it odd.I dont know. Im willing to try anything, so if anyone knows where there is a unit for sale, please let me know! Quote

Yup, this happened to me earlier this week. The irony is I read this on the C5 users group on Yahoo but decided to trust the mechanic who changed the battery. Big mistake. :) Mine's a 2001 C5 3.0 Exclusive so IMHO not economical to repair. Quote
