Mike5483 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 You know the black trim at the side of the windscreen??? Well, mine is starting to pull off on the passenger side. Do Citroen replace this under warrenty??? The car has never been in a car wash (well, at least since I have owned it it hasnt). Thanks for any info. Quote

Best to pop it into them to take a look at it.........providing it hasnt been 'ripped off' by force it should be covered. The main thing with this type of question is do you think its a manufacturing defect? Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 Well, all I can honestly say is, I haven't ripped it off. Hopefully someone else hasnt had a go at it, but you never know Its just the very top is starting to come off probably about 2 inches can be pulled up. I dont really know how its held on. I can see no obvious clips. it looks like it is fixed to the edge of the glass somehow. How are these pieces of trim held on??? I have read on other sites about these being an issue for some people. kfk Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 just clipped on....... i seem to remember i did one about a year back for someone. Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 16, 2006 Author Posted July 16, 2006 Maybe ill pop down there tomorrow after work then. I cant imagine they would be that expensive if I did end up paying, they are only strips of plastic after all. Thanks KFK. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Mine too is peeling off on the passenger side, probably something to do with the fact I am on my 5th windscreen! They just keep randomly cracking. Yet another of the many faults with this car, thank god it is company owned. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 The www.channel4.com/4car long term VTS had this problem, it is reported in one of the write ups on the site. Quote
Stuey Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I can confirm that it is indeed covered under warranty (mine was replaced last week) It took ages for the parts to arrive though... Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 Oh well, thats encouraging then. least i know its probably not something Ive done, or has been done to the car. Thanks guys. Quote
Stuey Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I think the heat is a bit of a factor as it is glued onto the screen and hooked in... just nipped out to mine and the temp gauge was showing 42 degrees!! it has been sat in the sun all day though Quote
Welshguy Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I can beat that...mine was showing 46 this afternoon! Maybe my tints keep the heat in? Quote
wozza Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Temp sensor is on the outside though. Got in mine for it to read 29c by the time i got into the centre of manchester it has rose to 34c. Either way it was frigging roasting aircon just doesnt go cold enough! Quote
Stuey Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 yours is black so it may well be reflecting the heat onto the sensor more than most...mine normally drops about 10 degres when driving around Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Black absorbs heat, white reflects it! That is why darker cars get hotter. Quote
