Carlos Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Hi all The folding door pocket on the drivers side will now no longer close. On investigastion, it looks like one of the metal springs has come offits moulding, and dropped into the area the pocket folds into. Is itpossible to remove the pocket without having to remove the door lining(i.e. in the same way as you would remove the ash tray)? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Carl 2005 C5 2.0Hdi VTR Estate Quote
citroeneddie Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Carlos This has happened a couple of times to me. After taking the pocket out, you have to refit the black spring back onto the side of the pocket and it will re fit. A bit flimsy, I know but good for holding sunglasses  Eddie Quote
Carlos Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 Thanks Eddie. But how do you actually remove the pocket. I have tried (carefully) to pull it out, but haven't managed it. Is it just a case of being a bit more heavy handed, or are there any clips? Thanks again Carl Quote
PaulCartwright Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 If you have to take the door pannel off if its the drivers side your alright but on the passenger side the electric window swtich needs to be taken off from the inside of the dor pannel else you will wreck the switch there is a bolt under the handel on the door and under the speaker then there are lots of clips round the door i made a great tool out of an old flat screwderiver filed a V into it and bent the end to 45 degrees it fetches the plastic pegs out without breaking them its a sod to do mate just be very careful Quote
Carlos Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 Tried again last night, and the pocket came out easily. Just required a bit more force when pulling. It is only the metal springs that hold it in, and with one already missing, it was quite straightforward. Putting the sping back in place, and re-fitting the pocket was just as strightforward. Quote
citroeneddie Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Well done Carlos. If I can do it, anyone can do it. :D You will know for next time when it happens again. Quote
Johndouglas Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 If you have to take the door pannel No! there's no need to remove door panels. Gently push the springs downwards until they clear the pegs on the sides. Once the pegs are cleared, release the springs and the pocket will close. Quote
