jeffamentrulez Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Hi, I was filling up with petrol this morning and the little green flap in the top of the filler neck behind the petrol cap fell out and into the fuel tank. I was just wondering if it is ok to use the car with the flap missing as when I took the petrol cap off earlier there was a very noticeable vaccum air sucking in sort of noise. I have been told all that the flap is for is to stop you filling up with diesel as it makes the hole too small for the filler nozzle and will only take the smaller unleaded nozzle. I phoned Citroen and they said it is ok to use but I may get the odd whiff of petrol as it may vent through the cap instead of the normal place. Anyone have any ideas ?? Thank you KG Quote
kfk Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Its ok to use as it is.....unless you have a desire to spend money on something that neither makes your car faster or more economical. as already said it may vent fumes out of the filler neck, but if you were that worried about that you wouldnt be driving a car!
