Hi,

I have a problem with the central locking on my wifes zx.

If i lock the car on the drivers door all the locks lock. I i try to open the drivers door all the locks open.

Now if i do the same on the passenger door opposite, the central locking goes up and down about four times and the central locking stops working untill i open the drivers door. This is affecting the alarm that is installed as the alarm locks all the doors when armed but because this door plays up the locks arent locking.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem and if its an easy mend or would a new actuator be advised?

thanks for your help

Sounds like it could be an actuator, might be worth checking for broken wires in the gaitors bt the front door hinges though

Just a thought....to diagnose which door motor is faulty.

Try the passenger one first, no reason other than it sounds to be that one. Remove the interior door trim and gain acces to the two connectors, i believe if you unplug one of the connectors it will allow the motor to workbut stops it sending a signal to the other door.....its this signal thats causin the motors to 'bounce'.

If removing it cures the problem you need a neew door lock motor that side.

If you order a motor you'll be glad to here it fits both doors, so if you guess wrong you can whip it out and fit it in the other door. :D
