ive got a 96 xantia and recently the car stopped jacking up on the back when you start it and the brakes seem like they are not going to stop and they brake really sharp, someone suggested having a look at the LHM?? fluid, the disc in the glass thingy should be between the 2 red lines but at the moment it is above. my mate has had a look but couldnt find the problem, im not too keen to spend too much on repairs because of the age of the car, just wondering if anybody has any ideas?? to be honest i am completely useless with cars!!

many thanks in advance

Having too much LHM in the reservoir won't do any harm and it won't stop the system working correctly. All it will do is make a mess on the top of the tank, plus dripping on the ground. You'll need to look at the height corrector between the rear wheels. It may be in need of lubrication or the plastic arm on the ball joint may have come off. To do this, you'll have to get underneath. It's best to use a couple of ramps, but if you have to use a jack to get sufficient room, also use some support.

To get to the horn, you'll need to jack up the vehicle at the front, remove the n/s front wheel and take off the wing liner. The horn is behind it. Check for 12volts with a multimeter or bulb when the horn push is pressed. It may be necessary to check fuses or replace the horn. You didn't say what the fault was with the suspension.
