enknt Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Xsara HDi Diesel Automatic but I've got some concerns about servicing it properly. Firstly the one I'm looking at is a hatchback, the model made from 00-04. 1) Older Citroens needed specialist servicing to ensure they stayed reliable. Is the Xsara the same (ie. it must go to a Citroen dealer for its services) or would it be OK to get it serviced at any normal garage like I do with my Astra? 2) If it'll be OK at a normal garage does anyone know how I can find out the service schedule that Citroen recommend for it (there's no Haynes manual for it!)? Is it included in the documentation supplied with the car? Lastly, does anyone know of any major problems with the Diesel Automatic?? Thanks for any advice you can give me!! Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 1) Older Citroens needed specialist servicing to ensure they stayed reliable. Do they? Who told you that? I bought a Xantia new in 1998 and when I sold it in 2005, it had never been near a garage, other than to be MOT'd each year. Also, my other cars, with the exception of the C5 only go to the garage for MOT. They don't need specialist servicing - but they do need looking after. Quote
