lupin Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 We're taking our C3 (Pluriel) to France this weekend for a three week touring holiday, and I have two questions about adapting the car for continental driving: a) Can anyone recommend the best type of headlamp beam deflectors for this car? Is it possible to change the speedometer display from miles-per-hour to kilometers-per-hour? Any advice welcome! Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 You can buy the headlamp masks on the ferry or in the dockside shops. They have full instructions for most vehicles. Why do you want to convert the speedo from miles to km? Simply convert the km distances into miles. I spend 3 months of every year driving abroad and I don't find it a problem. Quote
lupin Posted August 16, 2006 Author Posted August 16, 2006 Thanks for the reply John, My main reason for wanting to have KPH on the speedometer is to avoid falling foul of speed cameras. I'm not sure that I have the arithmetic agility to do the conversion from KPH to MPH in time to avoid getting flashed! Quote
Igloo_Vindaloo Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Hi Probably a bit late, but it is possible to convert the C3 speedo to read out in km instead of miles and very simple too. Though I can't remember the exact method, I think it involves holding down the right-hand button on the speedo panel while it is on the total mileage (or kilometerage!) display. I'm sure if you search on these forums you'll find it. Cheers Tim Quote
iannez Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 igloos right. ignition on but dont start. make sure milage is on total. hold down right hand button untill mph starts to flash. let of button then press button again mph will change to kph. turn ignition off then back on again. Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 With regard to headlamp converters, a dealer will get you a template from Citroen Technical, and then use black stickey backed plastic to cut to size. My new look C5 doesn't need them as it has a flat beam, and also the C8 I think. Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 My new look C5 doesn't need them as it has a flat beam, But only if you have Xenon headlights. Normal lights do need them. Quote
