powza Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Has anyone fitted mud flaps? I am tempted to pick up a pair from ebay but don't know how easy they are to fit.Do they need holes to be drilled in the bodywork or do they just clip on? I don't want to attempt anything too demanding (cos I'm crap at anything requiring any element of skill) and definately don't want to invalidate my bodywork warranty. Any idea what a dealer would charge to fit them? Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 There was some1 on here that had mudflaps. They looked great on a black car, not sure if they would look as good on another coloured car. I think that they also said that they did not seem to helo agaist the rear end dust/mud or whatever that is a bit of a problem with the coupe. I wouldn't mind seeing that pick again now that my car is black. Quote
wozza Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 That was Hams car with the mud guards. Just a nice looking car though since he keeps the thing spotless judging by the pictures. Sure he wont mind his car being shown a bit more. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/hams1.jpg They shoudl not be too hard to fit though sure he will be able to tell you how he did his. Quote
C4VTRhdi Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Hi I have a wicked red C4 and mine came with mud flaps on the front and rear and I think they look good kind of give it a rally look. Ive seen some on ebay for about £4-£5 yesterday. Quote
wozza Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 They dont look too bad on the red only picture i could find is this one though. http://www.citroen.com/NR/rdonlyres/6A948094-AC13-4373-9285-70CBBB9D459F/34253/R2035_p32_5.jpg Quote
moggy Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 ive got them on mine, look cool not that there that visible against the tyres Quote
Johndouglas Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I've tried, unsuccessfully to put a picture of my C5's mudflaps with this post, but it hasn't worked. I've fitted them front and back on the C5 and on the front of the Xsara. I find that they are only of benefit on the rear whilst towing a caravan. Mine are Cannon flaps bought off e-bay. They are easy to fit, being held on with three self-tapping screws. Holes need to be drilled but they only go into the plastic wheel arch liner. Take measurements to ensure that both flaps are the same distance from the ground. How do you include a picture? Quote
wozza Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 You need to host it on the internet somewhere.Useful sites are. http://photobucket.com/ http://imageshack.us/ Then when you have the URL just copy and paste it into the post you make using the IMG tags Quote
ham's c4vts Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 The mud flaps are easy enough to fit but youll have to take each wheel off on turn, i got round this by using a body reamer found at model shops for putting holes into lexan body shells for rc cars(http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=23197), which i race with my son :D . but i still had to remove the front wheels .the front and rear flaps require 2 holes 5mm diameter drilling into the plastic liner and a small clamp at bottom to secure to bottom of bumper that you wont notice the flaps have a small plastic screw/wall plug pushed through holes. ill try to post the distructions asap :D :o ;) :P :D :D B) :P :D :) :P :( :D :P :P :P :P bored bored bored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P Quote
powza Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Thanks for that. It all sounds a bit complicated for me - I'll probably leave it as it is! Quote
fuelguage Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Rear Flaps are just a waste of money, front ones may help a bit but you better save your money and take the partner out for a meal at Wetherspoons Quote
moggy Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 mine came fitted, sure there isnt already holes fro screws??? Quote
ham's c4vts Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 no no holes in liners, well the rears dont stop spray from going onto back window so yeah really just have fronts Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I know they would help keep the mud from the fronts, because i had mud on the sides each time it got slightly damp, but one time after it had dried, it actually looked pretty cool! :P Looked like a very suttle graphic :D The back ones look cool on a black car, they almost add to the lines of the car.
