Morning ! My clutch cable has snapped on my 2000 year Saxo VTR, how hard is is to change this ?

If I remove the lower cowling under the steering wheel will I be able to access the top of the clutch pedal to attach the new cable ?

Thanks in advance Penelope : )

First you need to release the cable from the clutch release lever by removing the locknut and adjuster nut.  It can be done from within the engine compartment but you may have to remove the battery for access.   Probably easier to raise the front of the car on axle stands and disconnect the cable from underneath,    The cable is also held in a bracket on the transmission and sometimes on the engine bulkhead.   Inside the car remove the trim panel above the clutch pedal, then by raising the pedal unhook the inner cable from the top of the pedal.   The cable is removed from within the car.   Make a note of the cables route so that the replacement can follow the same route.   When the new cable is installed, the cable needs to be adjusted so that the pedal has 130mm of travel.
