garyb Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Just finding my way round the C5 after owning 2 XM's,i know to use LDS not green mineral but could someone run me thro the procedure for draining and refilling the suspension fluid, are any special tools required, should car be set at low mid or full height etc.also is there a good manual such as haynes for the C5 yet Quote
kfk Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Checking and topping up of hydraulic fluid is done with the vehicle in the low position . If the level is lower than minimum level, 1 litre of hydraulic fluid should be added . The minimum level of hydraulic fluid is identical for 3 and 3+ hydractive suspension . I would advise the same as another recent post here.......obtain a large syringe and suck the contents from the tank. To go any further than that will involve bleeding parts of the system and applying a pressure in the reservoir to assist you. I might add that the level should be with the seam of the tank Quote
garyb Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 the resovoir was empty, and there could be a pump problem, i hjave poured 1 lt of lds into resovoir but it is going nowhere, the car will not rise or fall, is it a case of applying pressure to the resovoir tank and if so how do i do so, this is worth a try before i put the car to citroen and maybe get a new pump fitted. ouch Quote
kfk Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 when you operate the suspension switch in the car do you hear the motor hum? Quote
bordercars Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 let us know how you are going on as i have a similar problem Quote
garyb Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 have replaced pump as the old one had siezed, lowered car replaced pump filled with LDS bleed a little air out of rear valve but car will not raise, do i apply pressure to resovoir or as somone elser said get the pump programmed, that bit i dont understand the pump fitted is like 4 like therfore surely it is only like disconnecting the battery and the pump would remember it's settings. Quote
