Headlights Problems

Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie so if I'm posting in the wrong place let me know :-) I have a C5 2.0 LX 2004 plate. I have a problem with the headlights, they are switching themselves on and off even when I have them turned off, is this a common problem? Has anyone experienced the same thing? Getting weird looks for people when I'm driving, people keep thinking I'm flashing at them. Lol. Any info greatly appreciated :-) Laura

Hello and welcome to the forum.

 Your problem sounds like the comm2000 unit is knackered. Its the piece that sits behind the steering wheel and has all the stalks on it. comom symptoms are

 High beam coming on when indicating

High beam coming on when it feels like it. and has to be switched of manually

And somerimes a airbag fault

 

Its a fairly straight forward job to do and dosnt require any diagnostic tools.

Second hand part £20 to £40

New about £200ish

while you are waiting to fix it, you may want to drive on sidelights - this stops the problem
