camillerih Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Dear all, I am new to this forum and I see that you are like a family . I have a Xantia 95 model Turbo diesel 1905cc and sometimes I feel that the steering vibrates a bit, this is when I brake or about to drive, what might be the problem, the anti sinking sphere is faulty and I am about to change it , waiting for parts!!!! here in Malta you have to wait 3 weeks to get something , anyway any ideas are very welcome, thanks Quote
kfk Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 If the steering vibrates when braking the first thing i would check are the brake discs for distortion. Assuming the brake discs are ok, next check would be track rod ends, lower ball joints and suspension wishbone bushes, followed by wheel balance. Quote
camillerih Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Thanks for your prompt reply but the steering rattles when the car is stationary, thats why I am a bit fumbled Quote
kfk Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 would still carry out the above checks first Quote
