georgina2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I have a Citroen C5 diesel 2002 model , the alternator drive belt is whipping when engine is ticking over but is ok when running at speed. I have replaced drive belt but is still noisy tried tensioning belt from slack to pretty tight but still noisy. Would it possible be the air conditioning pump that’s at fault as its whipping between crankshaft pulley and A C pump pulley, my thought is maybe something wrong with A C pump and causing drag on pulley. What problems would one incur if? One was to disconnect A C unit and do away with Air Conditioning all together, would be grateful for any useful information regarding this annoying problem thank you Quote
coastline taxis Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Could be crankshaft pulley or the belt tensioner. Quote
David McMahon Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Could be crankshaft pulley or the belt tensioner.+1 I had to change my crank pulley on my Peugeot 206GTi as it was eating belts. Quote
