I was wondering if anyone could help me.  I have a C5 Automatic diesel (09) 2.0 Automatic.  The car is brilliant and drives like a dream.  Recently I have started encountering an issue with moving the car out of P mode.  At times it works fine – hear a click a noise when I press the brake and I can change.  Sometimes, there is a lag (could be as much as 20 – 30 seconds) and then I hear a click and can change.  Before that the gear lever doesn’t budge.  It seems like an intermittent problem and there is no particular point in the day when this happens.  Any idea what this – and will this get worse?   Hoping this doesn’t cost a fortune to fix!

start by Checking your brake light switch as this activates the park lock. then lift the cover of the gear lever and check for any muck or anything that shouldnt be in there also a good squirt of electrical cleaner wouldnt do any harm
