max Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I crashed my 2003 C3 1.4 HDI 16V on the front left of the engine bay of the car, the passenger side airbag was deployed, I have repaired and replaced the damaged parts on the car except the airbag. When I try to start the car, the engine will carry on rolling trying to start but it won’t start. The drivers display shows me half a tank of fuel and a one red light on top of the temperature gauge. I have read on the web site that there are safety switches which have to be pressed in order to start. I have absolutely no idea what these safety switches are and I need help finding them.I have read there are things like a Fuel cut relay, etc...I know there are Citroen experts here who can help and all the help I can get will be appreciated. Thanks Review the complete topic (launches new window) Quote
kfk Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I'm pretty sure that the engine shut off feature is incorperated within the airbag ecu. Unfortunately, if thats the case the airbag ecu may have to be replaced or at least have the fault codes read and erased by a a main dealer. If it isnt in the airbag ecu its possible, but i think unlikely you will find a switch under the bonnet fairly high up near one of the top suspension turrets Quote
iannez Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 air bag ecu will need to be replaced anyway if air bag has gone off and dont think they have fuel cut off on diesels. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 When my niece crashed my brothers previous C3. When I tried to start it it would tick over but the Auto Gear Box wouldn't work and the Anti Lock Brake warning light was on and all the display had been reset. the date time etc. Surprising what damage to the engine can be done Quote
