myke Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I have seen a Multispace with front and rear light protectors, rather like some of the 4x4 boys use, fitted. My Citroen dealer says they are not listed so they must be after-market manufactured. Does anyone know who makes them? Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Myke I have seen them on the Peugeot Partner equivalent, so try your Peugeot dealer. Quote
tronboy Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 They're standard on the Pug Partner Escapade. Beware though! The Partner's rear light lenses are held on with an extra nut (presumably because they're soooooo much better than the Berlingo) so the rear grilles may not fit without a bit of modification. As for the front, why fit something that will reduce the light output of the crap Berlingo headlights even further? Quote
Terry1100 Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Your wife drives like mine then  Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 How can the light from the headlights be so crap on the Berlingo, they are bigger than the size of Scotland  Quote
tronboy Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 How can the light from the headlights be so crap on the Berlingo, they are bigger than the size of Scotland  Ha ha!! Yes, but there's hardly any reflector above the bulb, so the dipped beam has no reflective surface to project with. All that reflector around and below the bulb is irrelevant. Also because the headlamp is above and behind the bumper, there's a huge shadow immediately in front of the car. The best headlights are circular. Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Thanks Tronboy, point taken, you can tell I'm not an expert  Quote
myke Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 At £70 plus each for the front grills from Peugeot and near on £60 each for the rears, plus the dreaded VAT of course, I have understandably shelved that idea. However the Peugeot parts man did suggest that I slope out at the dead of night armed with a battery drill. I wonder what for?Perhaps an opening for an after market manufacturer somewhere? Quote
Terry1100 Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Which means that even if you did shell just over £150 some other b*****d with a 12v screwdriver could nick them pretty easily. I would have thought that if you wanted to go un-noticed a somewhat quieter manual screwdriver would be the preferred option. Unless I missed the point and you actually have to drill them off - in which case, I'll get me coat. Quote
myke Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 No, thats £70 and £60 each unit, not each pair, plus VAT meaning a tad off £300 for the lot!!! Whilst I like my Berlingo that is a step too far to justify to 'er indoors for what is basically cosmetic. That kind of price is why we are buying so much stuff from China these days and unfortunately a lot of it is good. Quote
Terry1100 Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Why would anyone buy just one side  (Unless it was to replace the one that some b*****d nicked with his electric screwdriver - cos someone else had nicked his when they saw the price...etc) Quote
tronboy Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Why would anyone buy just one side  Because they're not available as an accessory pack. That's the bodyshop repair price to supply an accident damaged car..... In other words, the reason why we're charged so much on our insurance premiums! Quote
