C5Gary Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 You know that feeling when you think youve got a pretty good idea what the answer to a question is gonna be, but you have to ask anyway .....? 2003 C5 Estate Exclusive New and Improved Central Locking Issues So heres a step by step of what it does/doesnt do 1) Plip keys (I have two) both operate and activate/switch off the alarm including lights flashing and beep etc. 2) They do not lock ANY of the doors except the tailgate. 3) The drivers door and tailgate lock when key is used manually in the drivers door, BUT none of the other doors lock. 4) When you press the interior button on the dash to lock the doors, the light comes on, but none of the doors lock. When you then open any door the light goes out. 5) The plips keys do operate the window functions. What Ive tried so far............ I have done several BSI reset procedures, using the intructions found here and on other sites (all the same procedure) and repaired the keys .I cant see that its a key problem as they are obviously operating the alarm/imobiliser/windows so they must be communicating correctly.None of the doors lock apart from the tailgate with either key or interior button, so I am wondering if there is some fuse or switch that may not be operating which activates the door locking mechanisms that I have missed.I dont have a fuse box diagram so cannot check if it is a fuse of any description anyway. Advice much appreciated, although I am fearing its going to be of the "take it to a dealer" kind.G Quote
coastline taxis Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 could be anything but your going to have to get it plugged in. Just a quick one in the glove box fuse compartment there is a shunt fuse marked sh. pull this fuse out for about 15 seconds and then put bac in. this will reset ecus on your car. its different to a bsi reset try it and see if it helps also have you tryed resyncing the key Quote
C5Gary Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 Thanks for the speedy response Coastline. You confirm what I thought.Yes I have removed and replaced each and every fuse ,including the shunt. The keys have been resynched each time I have done the BSI , using the same method ive seen you quote on other threads. I guess its a trip to the Garage. Anyone recommend a good independant with the kit around NW London ?? CheersG Quote
coastline taxis Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Might be worth checking the switch/wiring to the interior locking switc (if you have one) Quote
C5Gary Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Good call. I'll give it a go, but seems weird the tailgate locks.Thank you though, worth a try. Quote
qman3428 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Dont use the Chiswick main dealer, they have proved useless on the issues I have taken to them. Quote
