Hi all,
I have recently bought a 2004 Xsara 2.0 HDi Estate and very happy with it too  :D

I am able to carry out some of the maintenance on the car but know my limitations.

I grew up in a age of mechanical engines with basic electrics and always had cars looked after by garages when they got "electronic"

But know I am here I am and pleased to be part of this group.

I exported the car to France where it will now stay and will need to change the headllght units for continental driving and MOT purposes.

A simple job I thought, but haven't worked out just how to get at them – LOL

Appears I have to remove the bumper, any tips/advice would be most welcome.

Cheers all

Reading your other post, I thought perhaps you were just trying to change a bulb. Yes - to change the light unit, then you will need to remove the bumper. Then the cross bar needs to come off since the bottom bolts are behind it. See topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/7902-xsara-sidelight-bulbs/- post No 4 for a picture.

Thanks John for the link. I understand that generally, but... you say to pull the bumper sideways. I pulled the back part of the bumper out from the wheel but it is very firmly attached. I am simply not pulling hard enough? Just cautious of it breaking!
