i have to say the most annoying cars on the road for me is the chav mobile's, with the massive sound systems (still to make a point no anger from massive sound systems) although massive sound systems are class when the amps are made by argos and the speakers by pound stretcher and the sub woofer just sounds terrible i hate also the fact of the body kits most of them are the worst in the world! and not 2 mention theres only like 5 choices of car for them Nova, Cavalier, Fiesta, Punto, Corsa it just does my complete head in theres no originality in anyone and theyre more common than bad bmw drivers

rover drivers seem to be the worst for me

Rover Drivers?! :o

I was a Rover driver and I consider myself to be a fair driver, in my opinion of course.

I never get road rage, dont beep people, occasionally I might flash my lights.

I dont get the Rover drivers one to be honest...they have never done anything to offend me...

I suppose some could be a bit doddery and slow, I mean, most Rover drivers are about 80!!!

my mum drove a rover, but then immediately stopped after last winter, as after unlockin the car you had to go around the door seals with a screw driver and then put your foot on the rear door/rear fender and pull hard on the handle to open them, it frozen them shut was a bloody pain in the arse!

Ahhh, I liked my little Rover.

I had a 1998 214, with the rarely found Air-Con!!!

It was a great little car. i went all the way to the South of France in that car and it didnt let me down once.

Great engine the K series to. It has its problems (as do many engines) but what a noise once you get past 4.5k RPM!!!.

Bit old school in its delivery, really didnt work below 4k RPM, but after that, it proper shifted for a small engine. 103BHP out of a 1.4. Not too bad i reckon!!!

I hate Rovers

A massive drain on the taxpayer, and rubbish cars. Enough said <_<

Explain that...

It wasnt a massive drain on Taxpayers. It wasnt even a massive drain when it went under. A 12M Bridging LOAN (which was paid back from the sale of IPR) plus several small grants to suppliers is hardly a drain.

The cars, whilst I agree they werent modern or very technologically advanced (except 75/ZT which was basically a mini 3 series) were not too bad. From my standpoint, they looked ok and they came loaded with some serieous kit, the last of the line 25/45's even came with leather interior as standard.

Build qulity was no where near as bad as people think it is.

So why do you HATE Rovers...?

I worked for a plastics company making parts for Rover, Honda, Nissan and the PSA factory in Coventry and if we had parts returned especially by PSA they would be repackaged and sent to Rover as there quality standards were not as high as the other manufacturers.

In fact PSA were the strictest in terms of quality and we used to get here tails of how well the company treated the staff. Shame they have taken the decision now to close the factory.

BMW owned Rover when I made parts for them and our jobs were always at threat so the demise was a long slow one and I believe Rover were bailed out by the Government twice in the 70's and 80's.

My mates 25 is awful to drive, naff brakes, incredibly dull. interior quality is crap and its just not a very nice car.

And thought the ZT had a BMW chassis but the top end one had that lovely mustang engine just detuned.

Unfortunately, the Rover subjected there cars to 'Project Drive' which was a cost cutting excercise, so standards did fall towards the end.

The other thing is, what do you expect from a supermini??? Its hardly going to be a super car is it!!!

It argue that the steering on the 25 isnt too bad, it just doesn't communicate to the driver very well (as with the C4). The ZR and 25 share the same steering rack, just the suspension is different.

I could actually get my 200 round some corners faster then the C4 I now own.

As for re-packaging PSA plastics and sending them to Rover... How???

Surely a piece of PSA trim would not fit a Rover.

Shorter wheel base will make the 25 corner better or least it should do.

I just did not like driving it my clio was a nicer car to drive. More fun. better handling. And when i put my foot on the brakes it actually liked to stop my mates didnt. The clio was a better car then again i think the clio is possibly the best supermini on the market. I have driven most of them and the clio was the nicest one to drive.

Mate in the 25 very nearly went into the back of my C4 a few weeks ago as well. I was only pressing the brakes gently. He said he had slammed his on. Hate to think what would have happened had i braked hard as he would have gone into the back of me at quite a speed. Drove 2 25's that were like this.

Id have another clio now anyway as it was far more capable round corners than my C4 is. And much more fun as well. Just insurance on a 182 for me is ridiculous.

I can get insured on imprezas and evo's etc for less than i can on a clio 182.

To return to topic - Annoying cars - my contender is wacking big 4x4's doing the school run. One kid in the back, Mum driving (usually with phone glued to ear)

Rover collapse cost taxpayer £231m

THE collapse of the Rover car company in Birmingham is estimated to have cost the taxpayer more than £231 million so far, the government has admitted.

About £50m has been made available to retrain workers, and £6.5m was spent on keeping the company going for a week in April while a buyer was sought.

Oh, and we are going have to pay for their £600m pension deficit as well !!

Enough said.
