I have always put my car in to a garage at night but with my estate it will not fit, as I rent the garage at £32 per month I gave it up and now park the car out side in the service road.

I was thinking of getting a cover for the winter months but what about the aerial that sticks up at the rear, would this get damaged after time with keep putting the cover on?

As I am retired and only on the odd days would need to drive the car early in the morning, do I need a cover as it is a diesel engine or is this irrelevant?

Do you leave your car out side in the winter?

I will add, we only use the car about every other day so not in demand like when I was a worker and used my car to get to work.

Would like your thoughts on my little problem.

Thanks all....

Our four cars live their entire lives in the open.   The Saxo and the 306 have had 16 years of weather and they don't look any the worse for it.   On the other hand, my neighbour has his little-used second car under a tie-down cover, and each time the wind blows, the cover flaps and tries to get free, which can't do the paint surface much good.

I would give your car a clean and a good coating of wax polish - then leave it outside.

Thanks I will remember the advise, I wash the car with a wax in the water but nearer the bad weather will wax properly.

I just can't believe what a nice car it is, so comfortable to drive.

Thanks again for all the help.
