Hi All,

New member here, bear with me please if I'm f* up in any way  :(

I have a 2010 diesel  C5 2.0 16v VTR+ Navi   and a 5K miles journey is ahead of me, shortly... but the following ticking noise worries me: please follow Youtube link below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMEo6nzVpng

The ticking noise can be heard clearly when above injectors area. It is there 98% of the times, regardless if engine is hot or cold. Sometimes, rarely, it only appears when engine starts to warm up and not straight away after starting the engine.

Help, help please! What is it? How can I make it go away?

Is it injectors that need tightening or something else?

you can hear it pulsing so it does point towards the injectors. Washing up liquid and water and squirt it round the bottom of the injectors and the common rail where the feed pipes attach and see if you get any bubble. If nothing then you could be looking at a faulty injector

Thanks for the tip... i'll have a look

I just came from the dealer, literally... And guess what? That's a normal noise and it will go away!

I cannot buy that! How can a Citroen dealer say that? Pathetic

If you get a long handled screw driver and CAREFULLY put it on the injector and put your ear to it, it will act like a stethoscope and you'll hear them "ticking". Should be able to hear if one is making a different noise.
