Hi all.

I am brand new to this forum so please don't shoot me down for posting this.

My wife and I bought our dark blue Saxo VTR brand new for in October 1998 after selling my AX GT. Our Saxo has covered just over 90k miles and only does 4 miles a day as part of my commute.

It recently had a new complete exhaust, clutch, cambelt, and 4 new tyres. I also have a folder full of every receipt, MOT, and tax disc from new.

Due to its age, I need a newer stronger car for my commute and for when I take my kids out. I have kept it completely original as the day I picked it up from the dealer with the dealer supplied rear spoiler and Kenwood stereo. The only thing that doesn't work is the alarm.

According to my insurance the car is not valued very high, but this is a genuinely original car that has spared no expense in its up keep. But she is at the age where she shouldn't being doing my commute to the train station through rain, sleet, snow and sunshine. She deserves to be looked after and one day restored and I do not have the time or space.

So I would like to know if there are any collectors or enthusiasts out there that will offer a reasonable amount for my gorgeous little Savo VTR. I live in east Essex and I will post some pictures once it has stopped pouring with rain and I can get out and take some piccies. If interested parties could reply I would be grateful.

What would break my heart is to go and order a new car and the dealer just scraps it. So it really does need a new home with a marque enthusiast.

I too have a 1998 Saxo which I've had from almost new. I bought it from a main dealer as a demonstrator. Apart from going for an MOT each year, it has never been to a garage. Replacement parts and servicing get's done by myself. Sadly, it doesn't look likely to become a sought after classic - just another old car. Now our other 1998 vehicle - a Peugeot 306 for some reason is another matter. Each time it goes for MOT the examiner reminds me that he's a ready buyer. Some cars are destined to become sought after classics - others aren't. But all the best with your sale.
