hintonator Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Help needed please! Last week noticed a fuel smell coming into the car, local garage diagnosed as injector seal problem and replaced the O rings, gasket and the injector seals. The moment I drove it away the em light came on and there was no power over 3,000 revs (this has never happened before). There also appears to be a 'whooshing' sound now on acceleration that was not there before. Could this whooshing sound be normal now the injectors are working properly? Anyway, took it back this morning and plugged it into a code fault finder thingy and it came up with a mass air flow sensor problem, we managed to source a 2nd hand maf sensor and installed it, the result is that the car now works over 3,000 revs but the eml is still on with anti pollution fault + the whooshing sound is still there? Fuel economy seems about right but something is still wrong? Any ideas chaps? Quote
hintonator Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Sorry / car is 07 plate 1.4 HDi diesel C3 Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Although the fault code has been deleted, if the management light is still on the fault code may return after a few miles. Get your garage to check the turbo pipes for splits or poor joints. Quote
hintonator Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Thanks - I am leaning towards a leaking pipe somewhere now myself - this whoosing sound is quite prominent. Weird why it's there now though and wasn't before injectors got new seals though? Quote

A whistling noise can often be heard when injector seals are leaking. Just because new seals have been fitted, they may not necessarily be making a sound joint. Quote
hintonator Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 This new whooshing noise seems different from the chuffing sound from the previous leaking injector seal. Quote
