jryan Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 Thanks wozza, You were kind enough to give the link b4 but the vosa site dont match the citroen codes and i was hoping someone ould tell me more about each one. Quote
kfk Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I take it you have booked your vehicle in to get this work carried out! XWZ - checking the position of the brake relay linkage (Safety Recall) XXL - checking position of rear brake pipe - (Safety Recall) XXM - Main BSI update to resolve starter motor, anti theft problems & instrument lighting - (Quality Campaign) XYD - Airbag ECU Update - (Safety Recall) XYN - software update relating to cruise control operation (service update) Note to other owners: Just because there is a fault listed here that sounds like its the same as a problem you have got it doesnt mean the update is relevant to your model. Not all C4's suffer with these recalls and just beacause you have had a recall letter relating to one of the above doesnt mean that you should have had the other 4 aswell. If in doubt about recalls go to your local dealer with your chassis number to check on there database. If you have moved or purchased the vehicle second hand you may not recieve recall letters for your vehicle - this is a good reason to visit your citroen dealer. Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Might seem daft, but how do they know which cars to recall with specific faults, and not to recall C4's for all the same things?! Quote
moggy Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 quality assurance systems make sure everything is logged and traceable.if a fault is found then the faulty part can be traced.the part comes from a batch, so the batch has to be checked incase there are more faults. a big database somewhere will tell citroen which batch of cars the faulty parts were put in, citroen recall that batch, thats a basic explanation. who'd av thought i learnt something at college, Quote
kfk Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 If you look on the label that has your tyre pressure information you will find it has various number. One of these numbers, refered to as the 'RP No' gives a reference to the build date. Quote
