jesterking Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Hi, I have a citroen xantia 1.9 TD vsx, When I turn the ignition key on the ignition light comes on and no other lights on the panel, the engine will turn over but will not start . All suggestions welcome at wits end Many-thanksThis has happened once before but corrected itself. :) Quote
kfk Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 if you check the ignition switch it can be assumed you have 12volts on the 2 way black connector pin 1, because the starter motor works. Similarly i would assume that when cranking the engine you have power out of the ignitin on pin 2 of the black connector because it goes to the starter motor. Have you got 12volts on pin 2 of the grey connector when cranking, and also in the 'engine running' position?......also worth checking fuses 2, 12 & 25 also the shunt fuse to make sure its in place. Pin 1 of the grey connector should have 12 volts present when in accessori position and engine running position. if the 2 way brown connector is disconnected and the switch put to the engine running position it should have continuity through it. Would be worth having the last 8 digits of your chassis number to assist further. Also do indicators, central locking work.....or which specific lights wont operate. Quote
iannez Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 wounder if its the same as saxos when the ignition swtch goes down. i normaly just cut the 2 wires going into the brown plug and bypass the ignition for a cheap fix. Quote
