Thank god someone is finally talking some sens  e

Some times you have to wait along time for people to talk sense on here.......and when they do someone else comes along and changes the thread to something totally irrelavent.....probably because they dont know how to make a new thread!

Im not gonna overly moderate the forums when that happens people leave. Seen it on so many other boards. Plus I think most people like the laid back attitude in here. Only when I need to do something will I do something.

All that happens on overly moderated boards is the topics run there course they get the answer and they get locked no one gets to have a laugh or joke etc its just facts. And if thats all you want....go buy a Haynes manual or something.

Forums are here for information and to some extent somewhere to have a chat and a laugh.

And I never said the C1 was not a fun little car. Its just for the price which is quite a bit you can buy better cars that are brand new as well. I was really looking forward to driving one and it just didnt have the same impact as other small cars had on me. I mean I drive a Cinqeucento as well for gods sake its not exactly like i dont drive small cheap cars a lot. But the C1 just was not that great.

The other thing is the C1 is only a couple centimeters smaller than the C2 and the C2 is better built better to drive and cheaper. Basically at the moment I just think the C1 is a little daft in citroens current range when they have the C2 which is a tiny car as well. Smaller than a Clio.

Personally i think the C1 is an excellent vehicle as a first step for anyone getting into 4 wheels. When i started out it was an old 2nd hand escort mk1, kids today dont want second hand and parents pressured into providing transport for kids at University can justify the cost of something like a C1 with the knowledge that running cost will be low together with the benefits of 3 year warranties.

A real benefit of the C1 which is often missed by people who 'borrow them' is the fact that there are a minimal number of computers, it isnt high tech but does the job its designed for in a reliable manner.....what they do pick up on is:

- 'i've taken £12,000 worth of car in to be fixed under warranty and they've lent me one of these poxy things with no fuel'........absolutely no gratitude.....dont they realise all the C4's are off the road having updates

Seriously though....Considering the C1 is becoming quite popular its nice to see that the owners arnt having problems with niggling faults and warning lights flashing all over the place.

As for quality......you get what you pay for........but it definately isnt a Lada.

I wanted a 5 door, and i think a C2 is only a 3 door?? the group 1 insurance £40 tax and 55+MPG also help me make up my mind  i think the C2 looks abit odd to.

I think the C1 will prove popular with first time buyers like the Saxo did.

I think its a lovely car compare to a Daewoo Matiz.

The only thing I wonder why don't Citroen sell the C1 with the Sensodrive Gear Box as Peugeot does on the 107.

And also Jeremey Clarkson had all three Citroen Peugeot and Toyota on Top Gear once and recommended the C1 as it was the cheapest out of of the three.
