Only just out of warranty and with 24000 miles on the clock my car needs a £1070 repair to replace the ECU which got wet, apparently. Maybe Picasso drivers aren't supposed to go out in the rain, although I can't remeber reading that in the manual. Citroen are being very unhelpful.

Took wifes C3 disel in, diagnosed with a faulty no 1 fuel injecto, around £300! only 50K, shell fuel always, what a croc.

 

He had a 2.oHDi Pic in wirh.....a faulty ECU after only 70K miles, around £900 to replace on a car wortha round £4K!

 

I'm afraid its gonna have to be Toyotas from now on.

i dont know what relevance your comments have. If you go to any garage you will find cars that have broken down, doesnt matter what the value of the product or the name on the badge........fact of the matter is our car parks are full because they either break or get broken. Sometimes they break due to repairs carried out in an unsatisfactory manner by owners, body repairshops or havent been maintained at all.

 

In my opinion the problem isnt the car broken down in the car park, its the ar5ehole in reception thats mouthing off about all he sees without knowing all the facts

The relevance of my comments is that in common with many car makes, Citroens don't seem built to last:-

 

Is it reasonable to expect to replace an ECU after so few miles?

 

Is it resonable to replace a fuel injecter after so few miles? or the cat?

 

I mention Toyota as it is common knowledge thanks to the JD Power surveys etc that they are well screwd together and are probably t5he most reliable mass produced cars available. Sure, they cost more for equvalent models but it may well be worth the extra and perhaps in terms of overall cost of ownership and convenience you may be better off buying a Toyota.

 

My Citroens are the only brand new cars I have ever owned so I don't have any experience of other main dealers. but I'm not inspired by my main dealer.

 

By the way, I loved my old ZX diesel, just change the oil and filter and sold it on with over 250,000 miles on the clock, never any bother.
